ShoreView Announces Sale of MDC Interior Solutions

The Partners of ShoreView are pleased to announce the sale of MDC Interior Solutions (“MDC”).

ShoreView partnered with MDC in August of 2018.  At that time, the company was a leading provider of commercial interior solutions for a variety of end markets, including hospitality and commercial office.  The family ownership group was seeking a partner to provide liquidity for estate planning and help management achieve the next phase of the Company’s growth.  ShoreView structured a transaction that:

• Provided liquidity to the third-generation family ownership group while enabling the fourth-generation to maintain a meaningful ownership position
• Created an equity incentive plan for key managers
• Provided ample financial resources to support organic growth initiatives and acquisitions

Over the next six years, ShoreView worked with MDC management to:

• Develop and execute on a strategic plan, which resulted in significant investment in new product development, a national accounts sales team, and sales-enablement technology
• Complete an add-on acquisition, expanding the Company’s product offering and diversifying its end market exposure
• Significantly grow the revenue and earnings of the business through internal investments and a strategic acquisition

During ShoreView’s investment period, MDC further cemented its leadership position providing commercial interior solutions by expanding its product offering and meaningfully diversifying its served end markets. ShoreView exited its investment to another private equity firm that will continue to support management’s growth strategy.

The sale of MDC represents ShoreView’s second platform exit in six months following the sale of Avidity Science in November 2023.
